Program and Education Committee

The Program and Education Committee shall plan and arrange program locations and speakers for the Society. This committee shall interact with other libraries, The Ohio Historical Society, Senior Citizen Centers and schools throughout Franklin County to further the education and purposes of the Society. (Society By-Laws)

The Program and Education Committee plans and arranges program locations and speakers for the Society. We have monthly meetings on a variety of topics and include times to socialize (e.i. Euchre party). The committee coordinates workshops with the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Grove City Library, Ohio Historical Center Archives/Library and PalAm Society. Speakers are available for programs at Senior Citizen Centers, Assisted Living facilities, schools, church groups, youth groups , family reunions nd other community groups throughout Franklin County, and other institutions to further the education and purposes of the Society. Yearly, we participate at the Dublin Irish Festival Genealogy Tent and the Grove City Arts in the Alley.

A new venture for the Society is the Ask Granny Seminar. This is a free program, where the participants will learn to record their ancestors on a simple family tree to create a genealogical gift for their families. Created by Gregory L. Crane & Judith F. Russell.
